Presentation

The French chapter (or "Chapter FR") aims to carry the values and the objectives of the association in France. It is represented by his "Chapter Leader" approved every year by the "Main chapter" which guarantees the proper development of the chapter, the events' organisation and the daily activities of the chapter.

The French chapter is a particular chapter since it is one of the two bodies which today constitute the French association WOCSA (the Main Chapter and the French Chapter ).
The French association WOCSA is a non-profit association under the "1901 law". It was declared on 03/13/2007 at the Hérault prefecture and is registered under the number W343004157. Its head office is located in Montpellier (France).

Main projects / Current actions...

WOCSA's déjeuners de la sécurité are held monthly. They contribute to develop a dynamic of knowledge sharing and exchange in the field of information systems security. Accessible to everyone and to all types of public (computer scientist or layman), they tackle each month a different subject, presented by a specialist. In concrete terms, these déjeuners are about exchanging, learning more about a given topic and developing a network while enjoying a good meal. The moment is both informative and friendly.

The WEHW group brings together people interested in "Ethical Hacking" and IT security in general. It has an exchange space (in the form of a discussion list) and offers a monthly meeting. Its first vocation is to allow professionals, students and all enthusiasts in general to exchange and enrich each other with their experiences and skills. The approach is respectful and membership is subject to validation and signing of an ethical charter. The WEHM group also trains the Ethical Hacking teams who take part in various national and international challenges. They allow both to give visibility to the association and prove its expertise...

The LudiGeeks group organizes workshops every month. Participating in LudiGeeks means having fun in the Tech culture from 4 to 84 years (and beyond) and learning to live in the digital world in a safer way! With family or alone, curious novice or caring passionate, come and have fun together! On the program, we challenge ourselves, we help each other and we have fun.
Some examples of workshops: Flashing bracelet, Robot to mount, Electronic knitting, Mini video game console, programming ...

From the last quarter of 2020, WOCSA challenges itself to organise an international Hacking challenge. The challenge will be carried out from France, but will be relayed by all of the voluntary chapters. It will be open to everyone.
It is a long-term job and the team in charge of the project starts working in September of the previous year. The information will follow little by little...

WOCSA encourages diversity and regularly participates in field actions to encourage inclusion, equal treatment and the presence of women in the world of cybersecurity. The WoSec group of WOCSA takes these actions daily and develops them all throughout the year by setting up partnerships or participating in events.

The WOCSA « EDU » group is dedicated to creating activities and awareness-raising sessions for all types of public, especially young children and teenagers. It takes advantage of the association's transversal dynamics to capitalize on the production of discussion groups or educational sheets (for example produced by LudiGeeks). The group also endeavors to set up partnerships (companies, administrations)...

As part of its development projects, WOCSA is currently working on providing a public web platform dedicated to referencing cybersecurity events all around the world. Without any prerequisite of location, size or importance, all known events that meet our ethical charter can be referenced. Referencing may be manual or automated (partnerships).

WOCSA develops and offers a knowledge and skills course in cybersecurity. This course is validated, depending on the age, by obtaining badges or levels. The acquisition of all levels provides access to the cyber citizen passport which testifies of the skills acquired.
